What Kinds of Poultry Manure Composting Machine are Suitable for you?
During the composting process of poultry litter, the temperature is an item you must focus on. It is advisable to keep it between 60°C and 70°C. Because only when the temperature is higher than 60°C, the harmful substances in poultry manure can be killed. However, if it is higher than 70°C, the beneficial bacteria are also at risk of death. So it is essential to buy a quality machine for poultry manure fermentation. Because when it starts working to turn poultry waste, the oxygen will be supplied to generate enough heat and excessive heat will be dissipated. But there are various poultry waste composters on the market, how to select the most suitable one for you? There are some tips for your reference.
How to Make Compost from Poultry Manure?
If you want to make compost from poultry manure, there are lots of compostable raw materials. For example, chicken manure, cow manure, pig waste and goat wastes etc. Besides, the poultry litter in your farm can also be composted. Generally speaking, the procedure of your poultry manure composting process can be divided into the following steps:
Collect Manure and Bedding
The first important thing you need to do is to collect the poultry litter and their bedding together. Common bedding materials include wood shavings, sawdust, peanut hulls, shredded sugar cane, straw, and other dry, absorbent, low-cost organic materials. These brown organic materials can provide enough carbon for your composting system. So, you can mix these organic wastes together to get carbon and nitrogen balance.
Regulating Moisture Content
Water is an important factor in the composting process. Proper moisture content can facilitate the poultry manure composting process. Here, SX recommend you to keep the moisture content at 50%-60%. In this condition, the activity of microorganisms is relatively active, and various substances dissolved in water also provide nutrients for microorganisms. Of course, if the material is too dry, you can add water to the pile. On the contrary, you can use our poultry manure dewatering machine to remove excess water.
Oxygen Monitoring
Our in-vessel also has professional oxygen sensor to monitor the inside oxygen concentration. When the oxygen needs to supply, high pressure Roots blower will press heated oxygen in the fermentation tank automatically. So microorganisms can continuously decompose organic matter in poultry dung and generate enough heat.
How Long Does Poultry Dung Need to Compost in the Composter?
In general, poultry manure composting time is related to surrounding environment. The higher the outdoor temperature, the faster the fermentation. It’s about 15-20 days to complete the whole composting process. You can compost poultry waste once every 5 days, change it to once every 3 days after the poultry manure heats up. And finally you can change it to once a day when the fast fermentation is completed. During the whole process, you can constantly adjust according to the external temperature. After finishing the fermentation, poultry manure reaches the point where the water is held by hand but does not drip. For this, the fermentation is successful.
